Like-minded people saved India :APCC

Tirupati, Jul 23 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC)  president D Srinivas today
said like-minded political party leaders had saved India by voting in favour of the UPA during the
trust vote necessitated by the Left parties withdrawing support.

Addressing a press conference here, the party was ready to contest all 294 assembly constituencies
in the state and the doors are open for like-minded parties to join it in the coming elections.

He said there was no other option for the Left parties but to align with the Congress.         

To a question, he said the trust vote was held in Parliament in a  democratic manner and nobody
was offered any money or anything to vote in favour of the Congress.                 


Minister launches medical counselling

Tirupati, July 23 (UNI)Andhra Predesh Medical Education Minister Galla Arunakumari today said
the medical counselling would be conducted at five centers at 29 medical colleges including 16
private colleges and 18 dental colleges including 3 Government dental colleges in the State.

After launching the medical counselling at Sri VenkateswaraUniversity Campus here, she said 1800
medical seats were available in Government colleges and 1435 in private colleges, while
615 were management seats.

However, in the Dental Colleges, 180 seats were available in 3 Government colleges while 923
seats were available in 15 private dental colleges and 323 were management seats, she added.

The counselling would be continued for six-days and would provide seats as per the reservations of
BC (25 per cent), SC (14 per cent) and  ST (7 per cent) candidates while four per cent reservation
available for the minorities, she said.
