Passengers will be able to travel from Jeddah to Makkah in just 5 minutes


Saudi Arabia has unveiled its plans for a high-speed train capable of reaching speeds of 1,078 kilometers per hour. Utilizing the ‘Virgin Hyperloop’ system, passengers will be able to travel the 80-kilometer distance between Jeddah and Mecca, and vice versa, in just 5 minutes. Additionally, the journey from Riyadh to Jeddah can be completed in less than an hour.

The technology, introduced by the American company ‘Hyperloop One’, enables swift travel between cities, aiming to significantly reduce travel times. The company has stated that passengers will travel in a capsule-like train, ensuring both safety and comfort.

The CEO of DP World, a logistics company based in the United Arab Emirates, has announced that the project is expected to be finalized by 2030.

Saudi Arabia will be the pioneering country to adopt hyperloop technology. This innovative transportation system will facilitate a 46-minute journey from Riyadh to Jeddah, as well as a 51-minute trip from Riyadh to Dubai.
