Ban on Firecrackers During Festival Period

Commissioner Anand’s decision to ban the use of firecrackers during the upcoming festival period is aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of the public. This prohibition is in effect from September 18 to September 30, encompassing the Ganesh festival and immersion processions.

It comes as a proactive measure to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain a peaceful atmosphere during these celebrations.

Official Confirmation by SHO

T. Narsimha Raju, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Abids police station, confirmed that the orders to implement the ban on bursting crackers in public places were issued by the Commissioner of Police during a video conference.

This move underscores the commitment of the Hyderabad police force to enforce the ban and uphold the safety of all residents during this festive season.

Challenges of Consecutive Celebrations

This year poses a unique challenge as the dates for Ganesh Visarjan and Milad un Nabi coincide on September 28. While Ganesh Visarjan follows a fixed date, the observance of Milad un Nabi depends on the sighting of the moon.

The convergence of these significant events makes it imperative for the authorities to take extra precautions to prevent any potential clashes or disruptions during the festivities.

A Plea for Cooperation

In light of these concurrent celebrations, Commissioner Anand earnestly appeals to all residents to cooperate by respecting the ban on firecrackers and by maintaining peace and tranquility.

These measures are essential to ensure a harmonious celebration of the Ganesh festival and Milad un Nabi within Hyderabad.

The city’s residents are encouraged to work together in the spirit of unity and harmony to make these celebrations memorable and safe for all.
