Karnataka girl jumps off Durgam Cheruvu bridge in Hyderabad


Hyderabad: On Thursday afternoon, a 20-year-old girl is believed to have leaped off the cable-stayed bridge and into Durgam Cheruvu. The Madhapur police have initiated an investigation and are currently attempting to locate the girl.

The girl, identified as Payal from Gulbarga, Karnataka, had accompanied a friend to the bridge that day. According to the police, Payal worked as a domestic helper at a residence in Jubilee Hills. Her friend informed the authorities that while they were on the bridge, Payal suddenly jumped into the lake.

In response, both the Durgam Cheruvu Lake patrol and the Madhapur police have launched search efforts, registering a case at the Madhapur police station.

Additionally, the search operation has been expanded to include the Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
