Shaik Sayeed Bawazeer murder case: police conduct raids in Hyderabad


Hyderabad: The Bandlaguda police, in collaboration with the Commissioner’s Task Force, conducted raids at various locations in Pahadishareef, Shaheennagar, and other areas on Monday in an effort to apprehend suspects linked to the alleged murder of social activist Shaik Sayeed Bawazeer.

Shaik Sayeed Bawazeer, a Barkas resident, was reportedly killed at an office on the first floor of a building along Bandlaguda road. Earlier, three individuals had been detained in connection with his murder.

Responding seriously to the crime, Hyderabad’s Commissioner of Police, C V Anand, instructed the Commissioner’s Task Force to cooperate with the Bandlaguda police for a comprehensive investigation into the murder case.

Additional teams have been dispatched to various cities and towns in India based on information suggesting the suspects might be hiding there.

Meanwhile, family members of AIMIM leader Ahmed Saadi held a press conference at their home, alleging harassment by the police. They claimed that police teams had been entering their residence late at night.

The funeral of Shaik Sayeed Bawazeer took place on Saturday at Barkas playground, attended by numerous mourners. The burial occurred at the Barkas graveyard on Errakunta road.

Shaik Sayeed Bawazeer gained attention for his social media videos highlighting civic issues in the Jalpally municipality. He had previously been assaulted for bringing these issues to light.

On the day of his murder, he released a video stating that he had received threatening calls and messages. In their police complaint, his family named Jalpally municipality chairman Abdullah Saadi, AIMIM leader Ahmed Saadi, Ibrahim Bin Khalifa, and others.

It’s worth noting that Shaik Sayeed Bawazeer had been previously arrested in a sexual offense case but was subsequently acquitted by the court.
