Polling going on peacefully : Telangana CEO

Talking to media, he said that there are technical snags in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) at some places, but they have been replaced with new ones.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj on Thursday said the voting is going on peacefully across the state.

Talking to media, he said that there are technical snags in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) at some places, but they have been replaced with new ones.

Raj said there is an expectation of an increased polling percentage in the urban areas.

A few minor clashes occurred, the CEO said and added that the complaints received during the polling process of violation of MCC, have been sent to the concerned District Electoral Officers (DEO), seeking their reports.

Complaints also received against BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha and TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy for violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

Raj stated that an FIR will be registered against the contesting candidates if the DEO’s report confirm the violation of of Code.
