Hajj 2023: Saudi Arabia bans these 4 things from being brought during the pilgrimage

Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has instructed the Hajj pilgrims to avoid bringing any items that are prohibited under international travel laws to facilitate their journey and avoid any hassle at the airport.

According to sources, the ministry has released a hashtag on Twitter with the title ‘Mecca and Medina are waiting for you’.

Plastic bags



The ministry has said under the said hashtag that ‘Hajj pilgrims should not bring their belongings in plastic bags’. It is prohibited to carry the goods filled in plastic bags in the plane. Doing so will cause problems at the airport.

Water and liquids



Do not carry water or any liquid in the luggage, airport staff will ask you to remove the water and liquid from the luggage. It is forbidden to take it on board.

Wrapped items in clothing

 Ministry has said that “Hajj pilgrims should also take care not to wrap their luggage with cloth.

Poppy seeds



Everyone is aware that poppy seeds which we use here in cooking is strictly forbidden in Saudi Arabia. Travelers to Saudi Arabia should avoid carrying poppy seeds.
