Rename Kurnool after Former CM Sanjeevaiah, Demands Pawan Kalyan

The founder president of the party Pawan Kalyan demanded the state government to change the name of Kurnool district after the former CM and added that they were making the demand as matter of right.

Hyderabad: The Jana Sena Party (JSP) has decided to build a memorial in the name of former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh state. The founder president of the party Pawan Kalyan demanded the state government to change the name of Kurnool district after the former CM and added that they were making the demand as matter of right.

He said that if the ruling YSRCP did not respond to their demand, the JSP would change the name after coming into power and rename it as as Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Kurnool district.

In a statement, Kalyan said that the name of Sanjeevaiah was not given to any of the welfare scheme of the state government.  Stating that he had founded his party by taking inspiration from several politicians, he said that Sanjeevaiah was also one of the leaders, who inspired him to establish his political outfit.

He said that he had been hearing about Sanjeevaiah, who was responsible  for the introduction of pensions scheme. Since the last two and half decades. He said that several Ias and IPS officers had heaped praises on Sanjeevaiah and added that they would always state that the history of Sanjeevaiah should not confine within the four walls of a room.

Reminding that Sanjeevaiah had worked as the CM of the undivided state for two years, he said that the veteran congress leader had distributed 6 lakh acres of land to the poor people of the state and added that the services rendered by Sanjeevaiah  were invaluable in Nature. He recalled that the former CM had set up industrial areas during his rule.
