Hyderabad: In a major anti-narcotics operation, the Hyderabad Task Force busted a ganja racket in Chilkalguda and arrested three ganja peddlers along with four consumers, seizing 11.530 kilograms of ganja near the Secunderabad railway area.

The operation was carried out jointly by the Commissioner’s Task Force, Secunderabad Zone team and Chilkalguda Police, who acted on credible information about illegal drug activities in the locality.

According to details obtained by Munsif News 24×7, the Hyderabad Task Force ganja seizure in Chilkalguda took place near Railway Quarter No.1003 opposite the 2 BHK quarters, where suspects were allegedly preparing to sell narcotics to customers.

Task Force Operation in Chilkalguda

Police conducted a special operation on March 11, 2026, targeting drug trafficking near the Secunderabad railway station area.

During the raid:

  • 3 ganja peddlers were arrested
  • 4 ganja consumers were detained
  • A large quantity of contraband was seized

The accused were reportedly transporting and selling ganja in Hyderabad to make quick illegal profits.

Accused Persons Arrested

Police arrested the following ganja peddlers:

  • Subhash Mishal (33) – Labour, native of Rayagada district, Odisha
  • Pabitra Bira (24) – Sentring worker from Rayagada district, Odisha
  • Bapun Bidika (24) – Supervisor at Memrin Tech Pvt Ltd, currently residing in Thumukunta, Medchal

Another suspect identified as Malli (33) from Rayagada district, Odisha, who allegedly supplied ganja to the network, is currently absconding.

Ganja Consumers Detained

Four individuals found consuming ganja at the location were also taken into custody:

  • Chimala Jethin (21) – Delivery boy from Old Alwal
  • Aditya Kamble (21) – Band member and delivery worker from Shameerpet
  • K. Das Vamshi Krishna alias Kittu (23) – Sound technician from Neredmet
  • Sankili Mahesh (24) – Chef working at a resort in Thumukunta

Drugs Worth Over ₹4.38 Lakh Seized

During the Hyderabad Task Force ganja bust in Chilkalguda, police seized narcotics and other items from the accused.

Seized Items

  • 11.530 kilograms of ganja (including packing covers)
  • 3 mobile phones used for communication
  • 2 grams of loose ganja

The total estimated value of the seized material is about ₹4,38,000.

How the Ganja Network Operated

Investigators revealed that the main accused Subhash Mishal regularly procured ganja from his supplier Malli in Odisha.

The gang allegedly followed a structured method:

  • Ganja was sourced from Rayagada district in Odisha
  • It was transported to Hyderabad
  • The accused sold the narcotics at higher prices to local users

Police said the suspects targeted areas around Secunderabad Railway Station, where they tried to find customers.

Police Register Case Under NDPS Act

A case has been registered at Chilkalguda Police Station under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.

Authorities said the arrested accused and seized material were handed over to the local police station for further investigation.

Police officials stated that the Hyderabad Task Force ganja seizure in Chilkalguda is part of ongoing efforts to crack down on drug trafficking networks operating in the city.

The investigation is continuing to identify other members involved in the ganja supply chain from Odisha to Hyderabad.
