Azad Corner on Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Inaugurated

A large number of books authored by Maulana Azad and books about him were exhibited. Original copies of Al-Hilal, a weekly newspaper published by him were on display.

Hyderabad: During the week-long celebration (November 3-11, 2021) on Maulana Abul Kalam Azad by Maulana Azad National Urdu University, the ‘Azad Corner’ was inaugurated by Professor Syed Ainul-Hasan, Vice-Chancellor of the University on 9th November. A short documentary on Maulana Azad was also screened on the occasion.

A large number of books authored by Maulana Azad and books about him were exhibited. Original copies of Al-Hilal, a weekly newspaper published by him were on display along with Al-Balagh, few rare photographs with eminent freedom fighters, and a few letters written by Maulana Azad.

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan described Maulana Azad as a multi-faceted and a great scholar of various languages including Arabic, Urdu and Persian. He also stated that Maulana Azad was highly influenced by Gandhian thoughts and was a firm believer in co-existence of communities with different culture and religions.

Prof. SM Rahmatullah, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Prof. Siddiqui M. Mahmood, Registrar I/c & Deans of various schools were also present on the occasion.
