Historic Achievements Unveiled at the 67th National School Games Swimming 2023-2024 in Delhi

Held at the prestigious Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Swimming Pool Complex from January 3rd to 9th, 2024, the event featured competitors in the age groups of 14th, 17th, and 19th years, both boys and girls.

Hyderabad: In a dazzling display of skill and determination, young swimmers from across the nation showcased their prowess at the 67th National School Games Swimming 2023-2024, organized by the Directorate of Education & Sports, Government of N.C.T. Delhi.

Telangana Table Tennis Team Secures Bronze at 67th National School Games Championships

Held at the prestigious Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Swimming Pool Complex from January 3rd to 9th, 2024, the event featured competitors in the age groups of 14th, 17th, and 19th years, both boys and girls.

One standout athlete, M. Suhas Preetham from Telangana, emerged as a star of the competition, securing a total of three medals – two silver and one gold. His remarkable achievements included setting a new SGFI National Record in the Boys’ 50m Backstroke U17 category.

In the Boys’ 50m Backstroke for the 15-17 years age group, Suhas Preetham demonstrated his supremacy, clinching the gold with a swift timing of 27.32 seconds. Arjun Singh from Haryana claimed the silver with a time of 28.49 seconds, closely followed by Aman Abhijit Sungar from Karnataka at 28.55 seconds.

The Boys’ 200m Medley for the 15-17 years age group witnessed an intense competition. R Navaneeth from Gowda Kendriya Vidhyalaya Sangathan emerged victorious with a time of 2:17.33, securing the gold. Dhulipudi Varshith from Telangana showcased his prowess, earning the silver with a timing of 2:17.43, while Prithviraj G Menon from the Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations secured the bronze with a timing of 2:17:75.

Telangana’s T S Tejas Kumar, representing the Council for Indian School Certificate, showcased his mettle in the Boys’ 100m Butterfly for the 11-14 years age group, earning a well-deserved bronze with a time of 1:02:76. The gold in this category was claimed by Laitonjam Lanchenba from Manipur with a timing of 59.40 seconds, while Samarth Gowda from Bangalore Suresh C.B.S.E. Welfare Sports Organisation secured the silver with a time of 1:02.11.

Celebrating the success of Telangana, Suhas Preetham’s gold in the Boys’ 50m Backstroke and Dhulipudi Varshith’s silver in the Boys’ 200m Medley in the 15-17 years age group added to the state’s glory. Notably, John Siddiqui, the Director of Zionsportz and Coach for the Indian Swimming Team at BRICE Games, Durban, South Africa 2023, was present to witness these remarkable accomplishments. A former Air Force professional, John Siddiqui commended the young talents for their outstanding performance on the national stage.

The 67th National School Games Swimming event not only celebrated the spirit of competition but also showcased the immense potential and talent within the young swimming community of India.
