Passport Services in Telangana: RPO & CPMG collaborate on efficient functioning of POPSKs

Currently, there are 14 POPSks spread across Telangana, operating under the jurisdiction of the Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: Dasari Balaiah, Regional Passport Officer (RPO), Hyderabad, met with Dr P.V.S. Reddy, Chief Passport Master General (CPMG), Telangana Circle, on Friday to discuss various issues related to the functioning of Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) in Telangana.

Currently, there are 14 POPSks spread across Telangana, operating under the jurisdiction of the Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad. Manned by personnel from both the Regional Passport Office and the Department of Posts, these centers process an average of 735 applications for passports and Police Clearance Certificates.

During the meeting, major concerns such as the installation of a Communication Tower at POSPK, Medchal, and manpower deployment were addressed. Both officials agreed to collaborate in extending passport services efficiently to the residents of Telangana.

On a daily basis, approximately 3,000 passports are issued and dispatched by the Regional Passport Office through Speed Post. The Department of Posts ensures delivery within 24 hours to the passport applicants.

Both officers reiterated their commitment to providing efficient and prompt passport delivery services to the applicants, a release said.
