MIM councilors attacked by BJP councilors for not honouring Vande Mataram_video


Two BJP councilors attacked the MIM leaders for not getting up from their seats in honor of Vande Mataram song at the swearing-in ceremony of the Meerut Municipal Corporation in Uttar Pradesh. The police have registered a case against three BJP councilors under various provisions.

According to media reports, three Bharatiya Janata Party councilors were arrested after clashing with local Majlis leaders over the issue of honouring the Vande Mataram song at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected mayor and councilors in Meerut.

Station House Officer Yogendra Singh said the police registered a case against the BJP councilors on Friday night based on a complaint by Dilshad Saifee, husband of the MIM councillor.

During the function, the commotion started when the councilors of MIM refused to sing Vande Mataram, after which the BJP councilors attacked Dilshad Saifee and others. Police officers separated the members and brought the situation under control.
