Fire incident at coaching classes, building sealed

Police sources said that the fire broke out in Gravity coaching classes situated in Kailash Kala building, however the situation was controlled and no one was injured in the incident.

Lucknow: A day after Levana Suite hotel incident here, a fire broke out at a coaching center on Shahnajaf Road in Hazratganj area on Tuesday, police sources said.


Police sources said that the fire broke out in Gravity coaching classes situated in Kailash Kala building, however the situation was controlled and no one was injured in the incident. “Though the exact cause is yet to be known, it is being suspected that fire broke out due to a short circuit,” they said.


Police sources said that around 50 students were present when the fire broke out in the coaching classes. “Around 8 coaching classes are being run from the crampy building located in a narrow by-lane,” he said.
Even Police Commissioner SB Shiradkar admitted that the building was not fit or safe to run the coaching classes. The building has been sealed by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) after the incident.


It may be noted that four persons died and seven were taken ill after a major fire broke out in hotel Levana Suites on Madan Mohan Malviya Marg on Monday. The owners and general manager of the hotel have been arrested by the police.
