Tributes Pour in on APJ Abdul Kalam’s Birth Anniversary

President Kovind paid floral tribute to Abdul Kalam at the Northern Command, Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir during his two-day visit to the Union Territory.

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders on Friday paid their tributes to former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on his 90th birth anniversary

President Kovind paid floral tribute to Abdul Kalam at the Northern Command, Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir during his two-day visit to the Union Territory.

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu said: “Greetings to your virtuous memory on the birth anniversary of former President of the country Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Your contribution in the field of space and defence research will always be remembered.”

Prime Minister Modi shared a message on Twitter, saying Kalam will always remain a source of inspiration for the countrymen.

“Tributes to former President of the country, known as Missile Man, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalamji on his birth anniversary. He dedicated his life in making India strong, prosperous and capable. He will always remain a source of inspiration for the countrymen,” Modi said.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted: “This day of Vijayadashami and the birth anniversary of ‘Missile Man’ of the country Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam is going to be very historic for the defense sector because today the Prime Minister Shri.@narendramodi seven new defence companies are being dedicated to the nation with the inspiration of #AtmaNirbharBharat.”

BJP president J.P. Nadda also paid respect to Kalam and said he will always inspire us to serve the nation.

“Tributes to the great scientist and former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam ji on his birth anniversary. He was the epitome of wisdom and hard work who spent every moment of his life in empowering India. He will always inspire us to serve the nation,” Nadda tweeted.

BJP leader and Jammu and Kashmir co-incharge Ashish Sood said: “To the man who will forever remain etched in our hearts and will inspire all future generations – I pay my tributes to Bharat Ratna & Former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam ji on his birth anniversary.”
