In addition, the government aims to cultivate horticultural crops in 14 lakh acres.


During the first review meeting with agricultural officials at the newly constructed Dr B R Ambedkar State Secretariat on Monday, he urged the officials to take necessary steps to achieve the set targets, an official release said.


The Minister encouraged officials to promote the cultivation of cotton and red gram, and ensure the availability of 18 lakh quintals of seeds for the cultivation of various crops.

Reddy also said that necessary funds of Rs. 76.66 crore would be released to purchase the required seeds.
He asked officials to encourage the use of Nano Urea and Nano DAP fertilizers and to promote the use of drones in agriculture.


The Minister suggested that crop loans of up to Rs. 40,000 per acre will be provided through District Central Cooperative Banks (DCCBs) for intercropping oil palm cultivation.


Reddy stressed the importance of making fertilizers available for the monsoon season and distributing them as per district requirement.


He also suggested that farmers should be provided with agricultural extension services through regular meetings at Rythu Vedikas.


The Minister told officials to take strict action against fake seed distributors.


Rythubandhu Samiti State President Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, MLC, Agriculture Secretary Raghunandan Rao, and other officials were present at the meeting.
