Hyderabad: GHMC Mayor Vijaya Lakshmi R Gadwal along with ruling TRS party MLA from Quthbullapur assembly constituency KP Vikekananda today made a surprise inspection of the ongoing works at fox sagar surplus nala work in the city.
GHMC has taken up the Fox sagar cheruvu renovation and surplus nala repair works at a cost of 95 Crores.
Speaking on the occasion the Mayor said, during heavy rains low lying areas were inundated and added that the state government was giving top priority to rectify such inundation and taken-up the nala widening works in the city.
She said they were spending ₹858 Crores in the first phase for taking up 60 works and added that out of the total works, 37 works were in progress in the city.
She also said that the works were under taken as per the directions of state Minister K.Taraka Rama Rao and instructions were given to the officials of the corporation to complete these works by May this year.
The Mayor appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the officials to complete the nala widening works as the Government was working towards achieving a permanent solution in solving the inundation problem in the city.
GHMC Zonal Commissioner, Mamatha and local corporators participated in the inspection program.
