High Court Directs TS Govt. to Compensate Farmers for Crop Loss

The High Court has also directed the farmers to pay Crop Insurance within 4 months, in addition to this, the tenant farmers who have suffered losses should also be compensated and insurance should be paid.

Hyderabad:  The High Court of Telangana, has directed the State government to pay compensation to the farmers who lost the crops due to heavy rains in the state in the month of September-October last year.  It has also clarified that the input subsidy should also be paid to those farmers within 3 months.

The High Court has taken up the hearing on a petition filed by the farmers of Swaraya Veda, seeking compensation for damaged crops. The High Court has also directed the farmers to pay Crop Insurance within 4 months, in addition to this, the tenant farmers who have suffered losses should also be compensated and insurance should be paid.

The High Court has also directed the State government to start the process of identifying the affected farmers soon.
