Hyderabad: A 17-year-old girl intermediate student allegedly committed suicide for being scolded by her father for using the mobile phone for playing games in Sarvodayanagar area of the city on Sunday night.

She went into depression after being scolded by her father and ended her life by hanging herself from a ceiling fan.

On noticing the hanging body of the girl in her room on Monday morning, the parents telephoned the Meerpet police who arrived at the scene of the incident, booked a case, and took up investigation.
