Hyderabad: GHMC to crackdown unauthorised Haleem Bhattis set up during Ramadan

Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to carry out inspections across the city in order to crackdown on such unauthorised Bhattis. After inspection, the civic body will remove Haleem Bhattis which are set up violating the municipal rules and regulations.
During Ramadan, the fasting month of Muslims, a large number of Haleem Bhattis are installed by many of the hoteliers in the city to sell the delicacy. However, they need to take permission from the Greater for setting up the Bhatti. They are given permission only at places where no inconvenience is caused to pedestrians, traffic and no risk of fire accidents.
The Corporation will crackdown on illegal Haleem Bhattis set up without permission or built within the hotel buildings or top floors. Municipal officials along with food inspectors, officers of Vigilance and Enforcement from the Veterinary Department, Health and Sanitation officials will soon start an inspection drive. Hans India reported.
Meanwhile, a meeting was conducted by Deputy Commissioner of GHMC, Moosapet Circle K Ravi Kumar with Haleem makers and vendors on safety measures and hygiene standards to be maintained.
