Rajendranagar Sub-Registrar, Document Writer Held on Graft Charges

The bribe amount of Rs 5.50 lakh was recovered from the possession of the document writer, and the duo were arrested and produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday evening arrested Arshad Ali, Sub-registrar of Rajendranagar in Ranga Reddy district and a document writer Vasu after they were caught while accepting bribe of Rs 5 lakh from the complainant.

The document writer also demanded and accepted Rs 50,000 for himself, the ACB said in a release here.
They demanded bribes for doing a favour pertaining to cancellation of a development agreement pertaining to the land of the complainant’s aunt.

The bribe amount of Rs 5.50 lakh was recovered from the possession of the document writer, and the duo were arrested and produced before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad.

The sub-registrar performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage, the release added.
