Hyderabad: Stating that making of any film with the background of Razakars will instigate communal tensions and hatred among the people, said TPCC senior vice-president G. Niranjan today.

The senior Congress leader urged the renowned film director, writer and Rajya Sabha member V. Vijayendra Prasad not to write a story or script for making a film on Razakars. He said though Vijayendra Prasad may intend to make the film with good intention, but the BJP and MIM will try to create enmity among the two sections of the people.

Though Vijayendra Prasad explained that the background of the film on “Razakars” will be in lines with his earlier film “Bajrangi Bhaijan”, but this doesn’t suit to the prevailing situation in the State.

It would be just like playing with fire and instigate tensions and hatred”, he felt. “It would be right to confine some parts of the past history for the purpose of study only, but any attempts to film and screen it results in to bad repercussions and the situation may go out of control”.

“We should remember that Karnataka and Maharashtra States are celebrating the September 17 as Hyderabad Merger Day officially, whereas we are unable to celebrate this day officially in Telangana. The State government should wake up at this initial stage and take steps to ban the making of any film based on Razakars in the larger interests of the State and to maintain communal harmony,” he said.
