Woman Passenger from UK Tested Positive at Hyderabad Airport

The Passenger has been admitted to the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) and samples were collected and sent for testing. 

Hyderabad: A 35 year old passenger who reached the Hyderabad International Airport yesterday has tested positive for Covid-19 after undergoing the RT-PCR test at the airport itself. 

The woman passenger had travelled from the United Kingdom which has been categorized as as “Risk Country”. 

The Passenger has been admitted to the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) and samples were collected and sent for testing. 

Whether the passenger has Omicron or Delta variant will be known only after receiving the genome sequencing results. The results would be received in three days.

According to Health officials, the woman did not have any symptoms and that her health condition is being monitored closely. 

She hails from Ranga Reddy district and was on a visit to United Kingdom from Hyderabad. Though her close relatives tested negative, their health condition is also being monitored.
