The tour of Rayalaseema districts by Chandrababu Naidu, the chief of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the opposition leader, has ignited a series of tensions across several locations. Notably, the roadshow organized by him in Pulivendula, located in the Kadapa district, became a focal point of rising tensions.

Chandrababu Naidu, as the TDP chief, vociferously condemned the Punganur incident. He squarely placed blame on the administration and Minister Peddireddy for the resulting destruction. His demand for a thorough inquiry into the incident and severe punishment for those accountable resonated strongly. Chandrababu Naidu made it unequivocally clear that he would return to Punganur and conduct a comprehensive tour of the entire town.

In a similar vein to Pulivendula, Chandrababu Naidu encountered a wave of protests during his visit to Angallu village, located in the constituency of Power Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, a senior leader of the ruling YSR Congress Party (YCP). Angallu stands as a stronghold of the YCP. YSRCP leaders and activists made determined efforts to disrupt Chandrababu’s roadshow in this region as well.

The situation quickly spiraled out of control, prompting law enforcement to intervene with a lathi charge. Tear gas was deployed in an attempt to disperse the workers from both parties, but the unrest persisted and escalated. The agitated atmosphere led to the destruction of police vehicles, and shockingly, a police vehicle was set ablaze by YCP activists. Those injured during the clashes were promptly transferred to a local hospital for medical attention.

In the midst of these tense developments, Chandrababu Naidu’s tour of the Rayalaseema districts continues to be marred by clashes and confrontations between TDP and YCP activists. The evolving situation underscores the heightened political tensions within the region.
