Malabar Group to invest Rs 750 cr in Telangana

The company has 17 retail showrooms in Telangana employing more than 1,000 people and has plans to expand further, officials said.

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister for Industries, K T Rama Rao (known as KTR) laid the foundation stone for a gold refinery and Gold and Jewellery manufacturing unit of the Kerala-based Malabar Gems and Jewellery at Maheshwaram (Ranga Reddy district), outskirts of the city, on Saturday.

The largest facility would generate 2,750 jobs when it is operational, an official from the company said.

The Company will invest Rs 300 corre in the refinery and Rs 450 crore for the jewellery manufacturing unit.

State Principal Secretary (Industries & Commerce) Jayesh Ranjan, Director (Industries) D Krishna Bhaskar, Malabar Group of Companies chairman Ahammed M P and vice-chairman Abdul Salam KP were present.
