Nagpur: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said state Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena camp and the saffron party would jointly contest the upcoming civic elections in Mumbai.
Speaking to reporters at Dr Ambedkar International Airport here, Fadnavis said Eknath Shinde camp and the BJP would jointly contest the upcoming elections to the Mumbai civic body.
“The Shiv Sena (SS) led by Eknath Shinde and the BJP will fight the Mumbai civic polls together and will hoist the saffron flag atop the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC),” Fadnavis said.
He also said that the BJP has formulated Mission India and Mission Maharashtra.
And as Baramati in Maharashtra, it obviously comes under BJP’s Mission Maharashtra, Fadnavis added.
Pertinently, Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekar Bawankule on Tuesday visited Baramati, the bastion of NCP chief Sharad Pawar and announced that the party is resolved to win the Lok Sabha seat in the next elections slated for 2024.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has been appointed as the party’s in-charge for Baramati seat, which is currently represented by Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule.
