61% Polling in Huzurabad Byelection till 3 PM

The polling has been by and large peaceful so far, sources said.

Hyderabad: An estimated 61.66 per cent of the more than 2.37 lakh electorate have exercised their franchise in the byelection to Huzurabad Assembly seat till 3 PM on Saturday.

The polling which is being supervised by senior election officials will end at 7 p.m. and the result will be declared on November two.

The polling has been by and large peaceful so far, sources said.

Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Dr Shashank Goel said the polling for the Huzurabad Assembly bypoll is going on peacefully.

Dr Goel, who inspected the polling stations in Kamalapur, said that 88 complaints were received so far.

The election observers are collecting evidence in this regard. On reports of distributing of money to voters, he said it will also be verified.

If it is proved, the Election Commission will take action after the completion of the voting, the CEO added.
