Call to officially celebrate Hyderabad Nizam’s birth anniversary every year

“The best manner in which this great ruler can be paid respect by this state government is by celebrating his birth anniversary yearly in a grand manner and declaring a holiday on this occasion”, he said.

Hyderabad: Mir Najaf Ali Khan, grandson of the last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan on Wednesday remembered Nizam VII on the occasion of his 136 birthday anniversary.

In a statement, Najaf Ali Khan said ‘ the Ganga Jamuna Tahzeeb’ of the Deccan was evident from the fact that different people of all religions together paid floral tribute to my grandfather Sir Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur Nizam VII, who was the most secular ruler’.

“The best manner in which this great ruler can be paid respect by this state government is by celebrating his birth anniversary yearly in a grand manner and declaring a holiday on this occasion”, he said.

He pointed out that Nizam VII is remembered as a highly benevolent ruler who always thought of providing the best modern facilities for his people irrespective of caste or religion.

The common man of Hyderabad in his day-to-day life still uses a lot of amenities and utilities of the Nizam’s reign even 55 years after his death, Nizam’s grandson said.

Monuments and structures made by him should be preserved and safeguarded. A lesson in history curriculum should be included highlighting his achievements, the grandson of the last ruler of Hyderabad State added.
