Godavari River Crosses First Level Warning At Bhadrachalam

The water level of river Godavari at Bhadrachalam crossed the first warning level today at 11 am. The river gauge reading was recorded 43.90 feet.

Bhadrachalam/Hyderabad: The water level of river Godavari at Bhadrachalam crossed the first warning level today at 11 am. The river gauge reading was recorded 43.90 feet. The water discharge was 9,20,657 cusecs informed Central Water Commission officials.  The water level in river Godavari has been increasing due to rains in its upper catchment area and release of water from upstream projects. 

There was a possibility of the river level increasing further,  the concerned officials were directed to shift the residents in the villages on the banks of the river to relief centres, said the District Collector D.Anudeep.  A control room with telephone number 08743-232444 has been set up at Bhadrachalam Sub-Collector office, informed the Collector.
