One soldier, 9 terrorists killed in counter-terrorism operations in Pakistan

The security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the South Waziristan district of KP, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, said in a late-night statement on Saturday.

During the operation, seven terrorists and a soldier were killed, following an intense exchange of fire, said the ISPR.

“Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area against the security forces as well as extortion and target killing of innocent civilians,” it added.

Separately, two terrorists were killed in another operation conducted by the security forces in Tank district of the province, according to the statement. UNI/XINHUA AKS
