Thousands of Muslims offer prayers to mark Jumat-ul-vida in Telangana

Large congregations of Muslim devotees offered prayers at different mosques across Telangana to mark Jumat-ul-vida, the last Friday of the holy fasting month of Ramzan.

Hyderabad: Large congregations of Muslim devotees offered prayers at different mosques across Telangana to mark Jumat-ul-vida, the last Friday of the holy fasting month of Ramzan.
An estimated over 15,000 Muslims from various parts of Hyderabad offered prayers at Mecca Masjid, one of the largest mosques in Asia, situated near the historic Charminar.
The minorities welfare department made arrangements including providing carpets at Mecca Masjid and erection of tents to shelter the devotees from the summer heat.
Large number of Muslims attended the congregational prayers at several major Mosques in the twin cities including the famous Jamia Masjid in Secunderabad.
Separate arrangements were made for women devotees near mosques at different places.
During the last two years, Jumat-ul-vida congregational prayers were not held due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
Police imposed traffic restrictions and diversions near Mecca Masjid and Jamia Masjid in view of Jumat-ul-vida prayers.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is hosting an Iftar party at the sprawling LB stadium in the city in the evening.
Informatively, Iftar is a meal taken by Muslims at sundown to break the daily fast during the Ramzan month.
