Shah Rukh Khan Receives Death Threats; Granted Y+ Security

Shah Rukh Khan has requested and been granted Y+ security cover by the Mumbai Police due to receiving death threats after the success of ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’. This upgrade means he will have six armed security personnel with him at all times, as opposed to the previous two.

The Maharashtra government responded to Mr. Khan’s concerns and decided to enhance his security detail in light of the threats. This move follows a similar provision of Y+ security for Salman Khan last year after threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang.

Shah Rukh Khan has a history of facing challenges from the Mumbai underworld and has consistently stood up against such threats. Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta recently praised Khan’s determination in overcoming challenges, including those from gangsters, in the context of ‘Jawan’.

As per the policy of the Maharashtra government, security cover is extended to individuals facing a threat to their life. In such cases, citizens are typically required to pay a fee or deposit a security amount for the protection provided.
