All India Chess Tournament in Hyderabad from Jan 14
The event for all is between January 14 and 18 and for persons below 16 years of age is from January 19 to 21. About 1000 players from all the countries are expected to participate.
Hyderabad: The Chairman of the Sports Authority of Telangana State, Venkateshwar Reddy informed that for the first time after the pandemic, huge event – All India Chess Tournament will be held in Hyderabad at Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy Stadium from Jan 14 to 21.
The event will be organized by the Telangana State Chess Association and Ekagra Chess Academy. The event for all is between January 14 and 18 and for persons below 16 years of age is from January 19 to 21. About 1000 players from all the countries are expected to participate.
Speaking to press persons, the Chairman of Sports Authority of Telangana along with Telangana State Chess Association President K. S. Prasad, Chief Executive Officer of Ekagra Chess Academy Sandeep Naidu and others, at LB Stadium, today, the Chairman said, this is the first major event in the state after the pandemic.
With this event Hyderabad will come into the world map with regard to Chess game and added that the tournament is being held in Hyderabad city. About 300 to 400 players from the State of Telangana are going to participate.
Telangana players have brought medals both in Asian games and National games earlier, he said.
