Auto Drivers Attacked in Uppuguda, Hyderabad: Police Inaction Raises Concerns


Hyderabad: In Uppuguda, Hyderabad, a group of intoxicated individuals attacked auto drivers, causing damage to two rickshaws and stealing their money on Thursday afternoon. Surprisingly, the Chatrinaka police have not yet filed a case.

According to the auto drivers, three individuals named Arvind, Vinod, and Chota, all residents of Uppuguda, forcibly stopped the rickshaws and hurled stones at them. They also threatened the drivers, warning them not to operate in Chatrinaka.

The victims reported that the two rickshaws were damaged, and a total of Rs 1,000 was taken from them.

“We constantly face threats and extortion from these unruly individuals. The police took no action and just sent them home,” complained the drivers.

The police downplayed the incident, considering it minor, and suggested that the affected individuals handle it themselves.
