Aligned with the Central Government’s budget, the Telangana government is contemplating presenting a similar budget proposal. The Cabinet meeting will likely involve deliberations on the proposed budget, aligning the state’s financial plan with the national framework.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had announced on Friday that the state government will soon launch the scheme providing LPG cylinders at ₹500 and 200 units of free electricity. He mentioned that Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi will be invited for the launch of the scheme. It is anticipated that the Cabinet will discuss budgetary allocations for the implementation of these schemes.

With the Congress issuing a notification for the formation of Group I on February 1, discussions on this matter may also be on the agenda. Speculations are rife that the budget session of the Telangana Assembly will commence from February 8, as indicated by preliminary assessments.

Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan’s address will mark the beginning of the joint session, followed by the presentation of the budget on February 10. The Assembly session will resume on February 12 after the budget presentation. The deliberations in the Cabinet meeting will play a crucial role in shaping the state’s legislative agenda for the upcoming session.
