Hyderabad: In a devastating incident during the Silver Jubilee celebrations of US-based private firm Vistex Asia, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) lost his life, while the President sustained injuries in an accident at a film city in Hyderabad on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as 56-year-old Sanjay Shah, the CEO of Vistex Asia.

The firm had organised special celebrations marking its 25th anniversary at Ramoji Film City on Thursday and Friday. The event commenced at 1900 hours on Thursday, with arrangements made for an aerial act featuring company CEO Sanjay Shah and President Vishwanath Raj Datla.

Tragedy struck when the iron wires supporting their descent from the stage broke, causing both individuals to fall from a height of approximately 20 feet. Both victims, severely injured, were initially rushed to a nearby private hospital and later transferred to Yashoda Hospital in Malakpet for advanced medical care.

Regrettably, Sanjay Shah succumbed to his injuries on Thursday at midnight while undergoing treatment. The condition of company President Vishwanath Raj Datla remains critical.

In response to the unfortunate incident, a case has been registered against the event organisers, and the police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
