Hindu faculty of Vision IAS praises Islam’s equality & brotherhood; video goes viral

Hyderabad: A faculty of Vision IAS, a UPSC training academy, during her lecture claimed that the Bhakti Movement was started due to the spread of ‘liberal ideas’ of Islam, which arrived in India in the 7th century, where they talked about equality and universal brotherhood.

Vision IAS is one of India’s leading coaching institutions for the Civil Services Exams. In the video, the faculty member, Smriti Shah, says that “Islam’s specialty is surrendering completely to God. They were talking about concept of one God. If there is only one God and He himself has created everyone that means all are equal in the eyes of God. So, it was talking about universal brotherhood and equality.”

Ms Shah also mentioned that PM Modi gifted a miniature of Cheraman Juma Masjid to the Saudi King, the first mosque built in India.

Appreciating the virtues of Islam, Smriti adds: “That is why Islam was becoming very attractive, especially for those people who belonged to the lower and untouchable section of the society.”

She asserted that that time there were fear of conversion and Islam was seen as a threat to the existence of Hindu culture, hence, they created a reform movement in Hinduism that reform movement was Bhakti Cult. She pointed out that they wanted to establish harmony between Hindus and Muslims.
