Hyderabad: In a major crackdown on corruption within the police force, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana has arrested K. Parthasarathi, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Suryapet Sub-Division, and P. Veera Raghavaulu, Inspector of Police, Suryapet Town Police Station. The arrests were made by the ACB’s Nalgonda Unit.

Bribe Demanded to Avoid Arrest and Ensure Business Continuity
According to ACB officials, the two senior police officers allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹25 lakh from a complainant. The bribe was sought in exchange for:
- Issuing a notice instead of arrest in connection with Crime No. 166/2025 registered at Suryapet II Town Police Station.
- Allowing the complainant to continue operating a scanning centre without hindrance.
After negotiations, the accused officers reportedly reduced the bribe amount to ₹16 lakh at the request of the complainant.
Abuse of Authority for Personal Gain
The ACB stated that both officers abused their official positions by dishonestly performing their public duties for monetary benefit. The demand for bribe in lieu of legal protection amounts to serious misconduct and criminality under anti-corruption laws.
ACB Produces Officers in Nampally Court
K. Parthasarathi and P. Veera Raghavaulu were taken into custody and are being produced before the II Additional Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally, Hyderabad. The case is currently under investigation.
