In a historic move for India’s technology landscape, the Telangana government on Thursday unveiled the country’s first long-term quantum strategy, setting an ambitious vision to transform Hyderabad into a world-leading “Quantum City.”

The strategy was formally released at IIIT-Hyderabad, Gachibowli, by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, alongside IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu. The event also marked the release of the NITI Aayog Roadmap for Quantum in alignment with the State’s vision.

Speaking at the launch, Minister Sridhar Babu highlighted that quantum technology could be as revolutionary in the 21st century as electricity and the internet were in earlier times.
He emphasized that Telangana has adopted a long-term, focused strategy to ensure the state becomes a global leader not only in quantum technologies but also in artificial intelligence and advanced digital systems.
