Minister Seethakka stated that under the Accident Insurance Scheme, every female member of a Self-Help Group receives:

  • ₹10 lakh insurance coverage
  • Applicable in cases of accidental death
  • Direct financial support to the family

Since the scheme was launched in 2024:

  • 231 insurance claims have been settled
  • A total of ₹23.1 crore has been disbursed to beneficiary families

The Minister said the scheme provides much-needed relief during unexpected tragedies.

Loan Insurance Scheme Offers Additional ₹2 Lakh Protection

Apart from the accident insurance, Telangana is also implementing a Loan Insurance Scheme for SHG women.

Key Features:

  • Up to ₹2 lakh coverage for outstanding bank loans
  • Applicable to loans taken by female SHG members
  • Reduces financial burden on families

So far:

  • 2,993 claims have been processed
  • Government has paid ₹223.7 crore under the scheme

This initiative ensures that families are not left with heavy debt in difficult situations.
