Sambhaji Nagar: At an election rally in Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra, Akbaruddin Owaisi, the younger brother of AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi, responded to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s “Bantenge to Katenge” (Divide and You Will Be Cut) slogan. In contrast, Akbaruddin raised the banner of unity and urged Muslims to vote for his party.
Criticizing the BJP, Akbaruddin accused the ruling party of spreading politics of hate in the name of religion. He said, “People are being targeted in the name of mob lynching, beef, ghar wapsi , wearing caps, and keeping beards.”
Addressing the crowd, Akbaruddin stated, “The slogan ‘Bantenge to Katenge’ is objectionable to many, but I would say that in the name of beef, mob lynching, ghar wapsi, wearing caps, and keeping beards, you are dividing people. Isn’t this weakening the country? By pitting Hindus against Muslims, are you not dividing the nation? I, Akbaruddin Owaisi, a Muslim, say that Narendra Modi and Yogi, this country belongs to you just as much as it belongs to me.”
