20 street dogs were mercilessly gunned down by four masked assailants in Telangana’s Mahboobnagar district. The horrific incident occurred in Ponnakal village of Addakula mandal during the early hours. Arriving in a car, the masked men indiscriminately fired at the dogs, leaving a trail of death and injury in their wake
Terrified villagers remained indoors, afraid of both the gunfire and the frenzied barking of the dogs. Witnesses recounted how some bullets instantly claimed the lives of the dogs, while others fled wounded, only to succumb to their injuries later on the streets. In total, more than 20 dogs lost their lives, with numerous others sustaining injuries.
Upon receiving reports of the massacre, law enforcement, including Bhutpur CI Ramakrishna, Addakula SI Srinivasulu, and a team of veterinary professionals, rushed to the scene. Examination of the dog carcasses revealed evidence of gunshot wounds.
Heart-wrenching visuals captured the aftermath, showing lifeless bodies strewn across the village. Injured dogs struggled to breathe, prompting residents to collect the deceased animals for transportation.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the brutal killing of these defenseless creatures, aiming to identify and apprehend the perpetrators responsible for this senseless act of violence.
