9,000 More Eligible Beneficiaries to Receive Indiramma Houses in Telangana

The Housing Department has decided to include eligible beneficiaries who had begun construction of houses during the previous BRS government or the undivided Andhra Pradesh regime but were forced to leave the work incomplete after laying only the foundation.

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has announced major relief for thousands of families who were left without completed homes under previous housing initiatives in the state.

The Housing Department has decided to include eligible beneficiaries who had begun construction of houses during the previous BRS government or the undivided Andhra Pradesh regime but were forced to leave the work incomplete after laying only the foundation. These beneficiaries will now be covered under the Indiramma Housing Scheme.

According to an official survey conducted by the government, nearly 9,000 eligible individuals across the state have been identified. The government will provide financial assistance of ₹4 lakh to each beneficiary after deducting the ₹1 lakh that was earlier sanctioned for foundation work. This support will enable them to complete construction of their houses.

It may be recalled that houses were originally sanctioned under the Indiramma Housing Scheme during the undivided Andhra Pradesh period.

However, after the change in government, financial assistance was discontinued during the BRS regime. Subsequently, the previous government introduced the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, but due to elections, many beneficiaries could not avail its benefits.

The present Congress government has now issued orders to ensure that all such incomplete houses are completed, offering long-awaited relief to affected families across Telangana.
