4 killed in car accident at ECR in Chennai

Four people were killed in a car accident on the East Coast Road (ECR) in Chennai on Wednesday early morning.

Reports received at the police headquarters here said four people had died in the accident.

Preliminary reports said the victims were returning to the city from Puducherry when the car

rammed into a lorry near Semmencherry. Their identity was being ascertained.

Traffic on the busy stretch was affected for some time.

Police officials rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to Chengalpattu Government hospital for

post mortem.

The ill-fated car was reduced to mangled remains in the impact of the collision.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.
