Vikarabad District: Tension prevailed in Tandur’s Rajiv Colony after a brutal knife attack claimed the life of a local mutton shop owner late on Thursday night. The incident has triggered strong protests by residents, who are demanding the immediate arrest of the accused and strict action against the growing menace of drugs and ganja in the area.

What Happened in Tandur Rajiv Colony
According to local residents, a man identified as Gopal from Kanjapur village had ongoing disputes with Kittu, a resident of Rajiv Colony. On Thursday night, the dispute escalated when Gopal, along with a few others, allegedly chased Kittu.
Fearing for his life, Kittu ran into Noor Mohammad Mutton Shop in Rajiv Colony to hide.

Shop Owner Attacked While Trying to Stop the Fight
Witnesses said Gopal and his associates reached the shop and started a fight. When the shop owner Noor Mohammad tried to intervene and stop the clash, the accused allegedly attacked him and his son Abdul with a knife.
- Noor Mohammad was stabbed in the abdomen
- He collapsed in a pool of blood
- Locals rushed him to Tandur Government Hospital
- He was later shifted to Hyderabad for advanced treatment
- He died on the way to Hyderabad
His son Abdul also sustained injuries in the attack.
Victim Had No Connection With the Dispute
Residents stressed that Noor Mohammad and his son had no role in the earlier dispute between the two individuals.
“An innocent shop owner lost his life just for trying to stop violence,” locals said.
They demanded the immediate arrest of all accused involved in the knife attack.
Residents Allege Drug and Ganja Menace in the Colony
Angry residents alleged that ganja and drug sales are rampant in Rajiv Colony and nearby areas.
Key concerns raised by locals:
- Repeated complaints to police allegedly ignored
- Growing violence due to alcohol and drug abuse
- Fear among families and shopkeepers
- No support system for the victim’s family
Residents questioned who would now support the deceased’s family and demanded strict police action to prevent such incidents in the future.
