Kathir, Divya Bharathi-starrer ‘Aasai’ to Release Worldwide on March 6
Director Shiv Mohaa's eagerly awaited romantic thriller 'Aasai', featuring actors Kathir and Divya Bharathi, will hit screens worldwide on March 6 this year, its makers announced on Saturday.
Chennai: Director Shiv Mohaa’s much-anticipated romantic thriller Aasai, starring Kathir and Divya Bharathi in the lead roles, is set for a worldwide theatrical release on March 6, the makers announced on Saturday.
The announcement was accompanied by the release of the film’s striking first-look poster. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), production house Passion Studios wrote, “A love story wrapped in suspense… #Aasai releasing in theatres on March 6th.”
The first-look poster hints at the film’s intense romantic-thriller tone. It features Kathir wearing cracked-lens glasses, symbolising inner conflict, while Divya Bharathi is seen leaning in with an intimate gaze against a sultry red backdrop, suggesting a story filled with passion, desire and danger.
Directed by Shiv Mohaa, best known for his debut film Zero, Aasai is a compact romantic thriller shot entirely in Chennai over a span of just 25 days.
Speaking about the film, Mohaa said, “‘Aasai’ is a romantic thriller. The story revolves around how a couple gets trapped in a complex web of problems due to their small desires. That is the core reason behind the film’s title.”
The film features music composed by Revaa, with two songs forming part of the soundtrack. Praising the production team and cast, the director said producer Sudhan Sundaram was a constant source of support throughout the project.
Kathir has delivered an impeccable performance, and audiences will witness a completely new dimension of Divya Bharathi in ‘Aasai’, Mohaa added. He also commended the performances of supporting actors Lingaa Dheena, Poorna and Alexandar Samy.
Highlighting the technical crew’s contribution, the director said Revaa’s background score enhances the film’s intensity, while cinematographer Babu Kumar IE’s visuals will be one of the film’s major highlights. Editor R Sudharsan, art director S Rajamohan and costume designer Lentia also played key roles in shaping the film, he noted.
Aasai is slated to hit theatres worldwide on March 6.
