Israel Rejects Trump’s Proposed Gaza Peace Board, Says Plan Violates Its Policy

Israel rejects US President Donald Trump’s proposed Gaza Board of Peace, saying the plan violates Israeli policy and will be raised with the United States.

Israel has rejected the proposed Gaza Board of Peace announced by US President Donald Trump, stating that the move goes against Israeli government policy and was made without consultation. Israeli officials said the issue will be formally taken up with the United States, adding to growing diplomatic and political tension over Gaza’s future governance.

Israel Objects to Gaza Peace Board Plan

In a statement issued by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel made it clear that it was not consulted on the formation of the Gaza Board of Peace. The statement said the proposal does not align with Israel’s official position on post-war arrangements in Gaza.

Matter to Be Raised With the US

According to the statement, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar will raise the issue during discussions with his US counterpart Marco Rubio. Israeli officials stressed that any plan related to Gaza’s administration must involve Israel directly.

What Is the Gaza Board of Peace?

The Gaza Board of Peace is part of a plan proposed by President Trump to manage post-war arrangements in the Gaza Strip. Under the proposal, the board would oversee governance in Gaza during a transitional period following the conflict.

Members Named to the Board

The White House recently announced several members of the proposed board, including:

  • US Secretary of State Marco Rubio
  • President Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff
  • Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair
  • Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner

It was also stated that President Donald Trump himself would chair the board.

Concerns From Palestinian Circles

The plan is aimed at ending the Gaza war and establishing a temporary governance structure. Under the proposal, a Palestinian technocratic body would operate under the supervision of the international board during the interim period. However, Palestinian groups have raised serious concerns, noting that many of the nominated members have been strong supporters of Israel’s Gaza war. They fear the plan may prioritize control and dominance over justice, reconstruction, and Palestinian self-determination.

With Israel officially rejecting the Gaza Board of Peace, the proposal is expected to face major diplomatic challenges and could significantly impact future US-Israel discussions on Gaza.
