Woman’s Handbag Snatched on Khairatabad Main Road; Police Register Spot FIR

Khairatabad police registered a spot FIR after a woman’s handbag was snatched on the main road in Hyderabad, following direct instructions to assist victims promptly.

A case of handbag snatching involving a woman was reported on the main road in Khairatabad, prompting swift action from the local police. The Khairatabad Zone police registered a spot FIR after reaching the scene of the incident.

The snatching occurred while the woman was travelling from Goshamahal towards Erramanzil.

Two-Wheeler-Borne Youths Involved in Snatching

According to preliminary information, two youths riding a two-wheeler approached the victim and snatched her handbag before fleeing the spot. The sudden incident caused panic in the area, with locals alerting the police immediately.

DCP Visits Spot, Registers Complaint

Khairatabad Zone DCP Shilpavalli personally reached the incident location and recorded the victim’s complaint on the spot. Police officials said registering FIRs directly at the scene helps in faster investigation and reassures victims.

Action as per Commissioner’s Directions

The police action follows clear instructions issued by Sajjanar, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, who directed officers to visit victims directly and register FIRs without delay, especially in cases involving women’s safety.

Police teams have already begun efforts to trace the suspects, including reviewing CCTV footage from nearby areas and checking possible escape routes.

Investigation Underway

Officials said special attention is being given to snatching cases across Hyderabad, and patrolling has been intensified in vulnerable stretches. The Khairatabad police assured that the culprits would be identified and arrested soon.
