Mailardevpally Rowdy Sheeter Convicted Under NDPS and Arms Act

Hyderabad City Police secure conviction of a Mailardevpally rowdy sheeter in an NDPS and Arms Act case registered at Falaknuma police station. One-year jail term awarded.

In a major success for the Hyderabad City Police, a notorious rowdy sheeter from Mailardevpally has been convicted in an NDPS and Arms Act case registered at Falaknuma Police Station, reinforcing strict action against drug trafficking and illegal arms possession.

The conviction marks a significant step in the city police’s ongoing efforts to curb narcotics-related crimes in Hyderabad.

Court Verdict in NDPS and Arms Act Case

The case pertains to CC No. 79/2020 (Cr. No. 107/2020), registered under:

  • Section 8(c) read with 20(b) of the NDPS Act
  • Section 25(1)(b) of the Arms Act

On January 22, 2026, the XVI ACJM Court, Nampally delivered its judgment, convicting Mirza Rahmath Ali Baig, a listed rowdy sheeter of Mailardevpally.

Sentence Awarded by the Court

As per the court order, the accused was sentenced to:

  • One year simple imprisonment and a fine of ₹10,000 for the NDPS Act offence
  • One year simple imprisonment and a fine of ₹10,000 for the Arms Act offence

In case of failure to pay the fine, the accused will undergo an additional three months of simple imprisonment.

The case was thoroughly investigated by:

  • Sri K. Chandra Kumar (First Investigating Officer)
  • Sri R. Devender, present Inspector of Police, PS Bandlaguda (Second Investigating Officer)

The prosecution was effectively conducted by Smt. Premalatha, Assistant Public Prosecutor, XVI ACJM Court.
