The incident occurred on Friday during a vehicle inspection operation when a gang of smugglers attempted to flee and rammed Constable Somia with their car. The vehicle passed over Somia’s abdomen, causing severe damage to her liver and kidneys, while also breaking several ribs.

Doctors at NIMS reported that her left kidney was removed and she is currently on a ventilator, fighting for her life. Although her condition is grave, officials confirmed that treatment is showing some positive effects.
The police have registered a case against the smugglers involved and formed special teams to track down the culprits.
